COUNTRY STYLE SMALLGOODS OFFERING GOURMET FOOD DIRECT TO CUSTOMERS

Country Style Smallgoods’s Sebastian Jurcan has been one of Ballarat Food’s original and most enthusiastic supporters. It was not long ago that this maker of fine quality small goods arrived in the Ballarat region, armed with fine charcuterie skills from his many years at Istra in Musk, near Daylesford, and a dream to set up a local quality smallgoods outlet in our area. We knew he was going to be a good thing for the Ballarat food scene.

REVIEW: MITCHELL HARRIS CELLAR DOOR AND WINE BAR

REVIEW: MITCHELL HARRIS CELLAR DOOR AND WINE BAR

Mitchell Harris Wine Bar and Cellar Door in Doveton Street North has been a popular spot in the heart of Ballarat since early 2013, a recent visit to try their fare was a wonderful experience for the tastebuds. The wine offering available by the glass would have to be the best in Ballarat and more than enough for it's own comprehensive review. The excellent thing about this local wine bar is that there is more than wine to enjoy.

FREE BURGERS THIS FRIDAY IN BALLARAT

FREE BURGERS THIS FRIDAY IN BALLARAT
Ballarat in the 80's was an era that heralded the arrival of some iconic American fast-food chains, Mc Donalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken, now known as KFC and Pizza Hut. These outlets popped up in our region with arduous support from the local community. We all knew about these brands well before they appeared on our streets, prior to the first Mc Donalds restaurant opening on Bakery Hill, you could not buy a cheese burger in Ballarat, you had to settle for a hamburger instead, Aussie style with lettuce, tomato, egg and sometimes, beetroot.
